Gold, Not Silver | Nigerian movie
Gold, Not Silver’s appeal to women, to value the character of good men, stands. Men of superior character should be cherished like gold, over men of poor character, likened to silver.
Director Chidi Chikere pushed the envelope. Sexual violence against women was needlessly featured. The film’s closing scene was of poor artistic taste. Gratuitous explicit scenes punctuated this family-unfriendly movie.
This Chidi Chikere installment is a fiasco. And, I am tired of seing John Dumelo playing king. Enough of these roles, Monsieur Dumelo!
Character development was absent. For one of the characters, I could not make the mental leap from jolly drunk to suicidal heart-broken lover. Reconciliations were also too good, to be true. Plowing through Gold, Not Silver is not worth the life lesson.
